Here’s a link to Ben reading an original short story for a special winter program on Minnesota Public Radio called “Heart and Hearth.”

Ben wrote and directed 13th Night, a short horror film. Check out the trailer here. He’s submitting it widely to festivals, and so far has heard back from two places, both acceptances. The short will be one of twelve films featured in the Final Frame Horror Short Film Competition at Stoker Con, and it is an official selection of the Chattanooga Film Festival (one of Dread Central’s top Horror Film Festivals and MovieMaker Magazines Top 25 Best Genre Festivals)

Ben has been named a 2023 McKnight fellow in the Media Arts. He’ll be using the support to direct his first short film. Read more about the news here.

Ben’s new novel, Sky Vault, will release on September 12th, 2023. You can pre-order it here. He’ll keep you updated on events, but he can already promise appearances this fall at Content Books, the KGB reading series, the Vermillion Literary Festival, Bowling Green University, and NYCC.

Ben will be writing the Ghost Rider series for Marvel Comics, paired with artist Cory Smith. The first issue launches in February of 2022, the 50th anniversary of the title. Read more about it here.

Ben co-wrote a feature film — named Summering — with director James Ponsoldt. Produced by Bleeker Street and Sony’s Stage 6, it will be released in 2022. Read more about it here.
